IFPTE Files Lawsuit Challenging EO Targeting NASA Employees

Home » News » IFPTE Files Lawsuit Challenging EO Targeting NASA Employees

On October 9, 2025, McGillivary Steele Elkin LLP (MSE) filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on behalf of the International Federation of Professional & Technical Engineers, AFL-CIO (IFPTE). The suit challenges the Trump Administration’s executive order issued on August 28, 2025, which seeks to eliminate all collective bargaining rights for employees at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and other federal agencies.

The case is titled IFPTE, AFL-CIO v. Trump, Case No. 1:25-cv-3615 (D.D.C.).

MSE is honored to represent IFPTE and its more than 6,000 members employed at NASA in opposing this unlawful and retaliatory directive. The executive order undermines long-standing labor protections for federal employees and represents a significant threat to the principles of collective bargaining.
