On June 1, 2023, BankCard USA discovered suspicious activity relating to their computer systems and began investigating. BankCard USA finished its investigation on July 14, 2023, and determined that individuals personal information may have been compromised, including:
- Name
- Financial Account Number or Credit/Debit Card Number (in combination with security code, access code, password or PIN for the account)
BankCard USA notified the individuals whose personal information was compromised on August 16, 2023. If you’ve received notice from BankCard USA that your personal information was compromised, consider doing certain things to protect your personal information:
- Change your passwords and security information for online accounts;
- Review your account statements for unauthorized activity;
- Monitor your credit reports for signs of identity theft;
- Contact the credit bureaus to request a temporary fraud alert;
- Carefully review the notice you received from BankCard USA;
- Keep a copy of the notice for your records; and
- Enroll in the credit monitoring and identity theft restoration services offered in the notice from BankCard USA.
