At this year’s American Bar Association 18th Annual Labor and Employment Conference in New York, MSE partners Diana Nobile, Sarah Block, and Megan Mechak participated in panels, shepherding their colleagues through all stages of the litigation process.
Diana addressed the initial steps in complex litigation, including intake, complaint drafting, class certification, and discovery. Megan’s panel focused on settlement of employment cases, including selection of a mediator, negotiations among the parties, and best practices for court approval of settlement agreements. Finally, Sarah’s panel concentrated on trial issues, including pretrial motions, opening and closing statements, and evidentiary considerations (including expert testimony and objections).
MSE’s attorneys are actively involved in the ABA. Dave Ricksecker serves as the Union & Employee Co-Chair of the Labor and Employment Section’s Wage and Hour Committee, and Megan serves as the Union & Employee Co-Chair of the Employment Rights and Responsibilities Committee. Other MSE attorneys serve as Co-Chairs of various Subcommittees.
